studioBE NICE Yoga is considered a "boutique" yoga studio, a trend that began as a solution to the impersonal and cookie-cutter atmosphere of emerging franchise studios. Boutique studios are independently owned and operated, and provide smaller classes with personal attention. A team of well-educated instructors offer classes rooted in a variety of styles of yoga. Our goal is to provide expert instruction in a friendly, non-competitive environment to all level of practitioner. "We want everyone to feel at home while they discover empowerment, happiness, peace, and good health."

In addition to yoga classes, BE NICE Yoga offers workshops, offsite or "corporate" yoga, private instruction, donation-based classes, pop-up yoga classes, community fund-raising, and teacher training.

Why the name BE NICE? Yoga is many things to many people. For some, it is a wonderful form of exercise. For others, it is a discipline that joins the true self with the supreme spirit: The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word "Yuj", meaning to yoke, join or unite. This implies joining or integrating all aspects of the individual - body with mind and mind with soul - to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life.

Besides the poses (asana), there are other practice methods one can explore while on the path of yoga. These methods may include pranayama (breath control), pratyahara (withdraw of the senses), concentration, and meditation. In addition, one may choose to study and practice yoga's ethical principals. The first of these principals is Ahimsa, or non-violence. As yoga master Dharma Mittra explains, the simplest way to live in the spirit of Ahimsa is to simply "be nice" - be nice to everyone, and everything around you. Hence the name BE NICE Yoga.
