FAQ

You do not have to. Classes are "walk-in", which
means all you have to do is show up.

How much are classes?
Ten dollar suggeted donation for "walk-in". You can also donate
a five pass card for $40.
Q:
Do you have classes for beginners?
You can join any yoga class as a beginner - but read through
our class descriptions carefully
to consider where you would like to begin. The trick is to
get to know your body's "edge" and respect it. Yoga
is not a competitive practice, but rather a strengthening
of the body's natural range of motion and a restoration of
flow throughout all bodily systems .
Be sure
to inform the instructor of any serious health conditions
such as neck, back or joint injuries, heart disease, high
blood pressure, recent surgery and/or pregnancy.
Q:
Do you have a dressing room?

Yes. Like any other form of exercise, if practiced
regularly, you will find and maintain your bodies natural
weight. You will also be drawn to a healthier lifestyle
and
therefore, become aware of proper eating habits. More importantly,
you may learn to love yourself unconditionally!
Q:
How do I choose a class?
Read the descriptions of the
different types of yoga classes. Think about choosing a class
that fits you personal objectives (a good workout, stress
relief, time constraints, weight loss, deepening of your practice,
etc.) and your physical condition. Eventually you may want
to try more than one type of class.
Q:
Do I need to bring anything?
All you need to bring is a sense of adventure. Some mats are
available but are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
You may want to invest in one of your own. You can find a
yoga mat at almost any sports store.
Q:
What about eating before class?
Refrain from eating or consider light meals two to three hours
before class.
Q:
How should I dress?
Wear comfortable loose fitting clothes that will not impede
your movement. Be prepared to work in bare feet!
Q:
Is Yoga a religion?
No. Yoga is a practice for self development, self-awareness
and purification. Some find this a spiritual experience.
In any case - yoga
feels good and is a healthful activity. Physical or 'Hatha'
Yoga was traditionally taught in preparation for more esoteric
studies as it was believed that personal growth should be
founded in physical and emotional good health.
